ITV3 is ITV's second digital only channel available on all digital platforms. ITV3 is generally aimed towards an older audience and mainly consists of dramas, documentaries and lifestyle programs, most of which are repeats. Before ITV3 came about, Granada's digital channel Granada Plus (later named G Plus then just Plus) broadcast similar programs. The channel broadcast from 1996 until 2004 when ITV3 replaced it as a last minute decision made by ITV Plc annoying many viewers as they were not given any notice about the sudden change. Several years on, ITV3 has become a popular channel and now broadcasts several American dramas such as Life and Numb3rs. In 2008 ITV3 also broadcast its first awards show 'The Crime Thriller Awards' which came back in 2009.
